SELLING CONCEPT

Benefit:  When the firm possess overcapacity, advertising concept become beneficial to sell off their merchandise. It can also be suitable in non-profit organizations or societies (See the example). Disadvantage: Advertising is largely a wasteful activity because a business truly exercising marketing strategy will not need to sell its merchandise. Marketing make selling redundant. Selling take in a lot of organizational resources, as the organization force the merchandise on buyer.

Example:  A political party, will vigorously sell their candidate to voters as a fantastic person for the task. The applicant works hard by selling him or himself - trembling hands, getting babies, conference donors and making speeches.
